Christmas in Seattle

This year, instead of exchanging gifts in the Nielsen/Wilbourne clan we all headed to downtown Seattle on Christmas day and stayed in the new, ultra green and eco friendly Hyatt at Olive 8. We shopped Pike Place Market (love those hot, fresh little donuts with cinnamon and sugar) and watched ice carving and ice skating in the Seattle Center. We rode the monorail and enjoyed swimming in the salt water pool and soaking up the heat in the sauna and steam room. We capped off the trip by getting all dolled up and going to Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" (Rachael's mother's favorite) at the 5th Avenue Theater. All of this was possible because of Grandma Dania and Grandpa Lee. Aren't they the best?

Fall Beauty

Fall was beautiful. The trees were colorful and plentiful, thanks to the planting we did. There was plenty of beauty inside the house too with a teenage boy, a preteen girl and a little batman who firmly believes his parents are "Prince Charmy and Cinderella."
